AI Board Review
Staffordshire's PEEL inspection found incidents were being downgraded without proper supervisory oversight and that attendance times had not improved. As a newly promoted sergeant, how would you address that on your own team?

Evidence, 4. You cite the inspection finding accurately and reinforce it with a credible observed pattern, and the detail that 'the National Decision Model is on the wall of every briefing room and is almost never written on a downgrade' is a sharp, specific point.
Improvement priority 1. Bring an individual officer into the ownership story.

“Imagine an experienced constable openly challenges your downgrade rule in briefing, saying it signals you don't trust their judgement. How do you handle that in the moment?”

Metropolitan Police
The Met's promotion process runs on a future focused interview, scored on a 1 to 4 potential model rather than the CVF. State6 includes a dedicated Met mode built around it: future focused questions grounded in the Met's own HMICFRS findings, answers built and reviewed on the Met's scale, and a Mock Board debriefed the way a Met panel marks.

What officers say
These quotes were written while they prepared with State6. Every one of them went on to pass.
Really impressed. The ability to tailor questions not only to rank but to force. It picks up intuitively on force level priorities. Also the ability to grade questions including the ones you don't want to ask. Love it.
Inspector, passed their Chief Inspector board
M.A.
It's like having an experienced coach to advise and develop the answers you think you'd give at the board and then having them tweaked for the better.
PC, passed their Sergeant board
L.M.
The ability to get targeted questions based on what you are currently working on and then instant custom feedback on your answers is unique. A really great system that really helps with interview practice.
Sergeant, passed their Inspector board
K.
Imagine being able to hold practice interviews, as many times as you like, and getting feedback each time. That's exactly what this does. The feedback was genuinely useful, and it updated each time I retried an answer. It's like having a coach on hand to practise with whenever you want.

So impressed with the guidance this gives. It's thought provoking, and gives genuine, worthwhile direction to improve my answers and expand my knowledge to get me through the board.

A note from the founders
We built State6 because we got tired of watching good officers fail boards they should have passed.
We've watched strong officers, sergeants who've run complex jobs, inspectors who've commanded major incidents, sit down in front of a panel and lose marks they never needed to lose. Not because they weren't good enough. Because no one had ever properly trained them on how a board interview actually works, or what the marking framework actually rewards.
The pattern is almost always the same. Candidates turn up with the right experience and the wrong structure. They give a story instead of an answer, or pitch their example at the wrong rank. Fixable things, but only if someone tells you.
Once you learn to structure an answer properly, in the right model, the interview becomes a process you can prepare for. Not a performance you have to deliver. Any situation from your career can be adapted to the framework and used.
