- The force needs to make sure that call takers give appropriate advice on preserving evidence and preventing crime
- The force needs to attend calls for service in line with its published attendance times and make sure that callers are updated if there is a delay in attendance

Police and Crime Plan 2025 to 2029
Set by the Mayor of South Yorkshire. It is published by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, and the Mayor took on the police and crime functions in May 2024.

What this means for your board
South Yorkshire is graded Requires improvement for its workforce and investigating crime. Its Police and Crime Plan 2025 to 2029 leads with the priority “Improving trust and confidence in the police and criminal justice system”.
