Applying for your next role
Preparation built around the police role you are actually applying for
Not every move is up a rank. A lateral move or specialist post, whether search, roads, intelligence, training or planning, is won on the criteria in its own advert, not on generic board practice. Upload the advert and your questions, reviews and application feedback are built around that post. For serving officers at every rank, Constable to Chief Inspector. £69.99, one payment, 60 days.
One payment, no subscription
£69.99 for 60 days of preparation built around the post you are applying for.
Get started- 1Upload the advert. Paste the text, or send the PDF or a photo. We read out the criteria, responsibilities and specialist areas.
- 2Check your application. Paste your draft expression of interest and see, criterion by criterion, where a panel would find gaps.
- 3Practise against that post. Your board questions are set in that role's world, at the rank of the post, marked against the CVF.
Job adverts are usually public documents. Please do not upload anything protectively marked.
We will never write your application
Not a paragraph, not even a phrase you could paste in. The review shows you which criteria your evidence already reaches and where a panel cannot yet see it, then describes the shape a stronger example would take. The words stay yours, which is the only way they survive an interview about them.
What you get
- 30 AI Board Reviews, scored against the CVF 2024 at the rank of the post
- Person spec verdicts on your reviews, showing how your answers land against the advert
- Application and sift review: your draft read against every criterion, red, amber or green, using the same 30 review credits
- 90 practice questions at the rank of the post, shaped by the advert you upload
- 100 rounds of coaching on your answers as you build them
- 2 voiced Mock Boards that rehearse you out loud on your own saved answers for the post, with probes and a scored debrief
- 5 STANCE presentation builds
- Up to 3 saved adverts, so you can prepare for more than one post
Your two Mock Boards rehearse you on your own saved answers, so the panel only ever asks questions you have already answered and you are rehearsing the material you built for the post. Boards with fresh unseen questions are calibrated for promotion boards and live on our Gold plan. Your board answers are scored against the CVF 2024 at the rank of the post, exactly as they are for promotion candidates, and the application and sift review is read against the advert’s own criteria.
What this is not
We cannot tell you whether you will pass a sift. Forces score applications differently and none of them publish their marking, so any tool claiming to replicate it is guessing. What we do is show you where a panel reading your application will struggle to find the evidence, which is the part you can act on.
We are also not affiliated with any force, and the advert you upload is yours alone. It is used to shape your own practice and nobody else’s.
Common questions
Is this for promotion boards?
No. This plan is for serving officers applying for a specific advertised post, including lateral moves at the same rank. If you are preparing for a promotion board, the promotion plans are the better fit.
Do you write my application for me?
Never. The application and sift review shows you, criterion by criterion, where a panel can already see your evidence and where it cannot, then describes the shape a stronger example would take. The words stay yours.
Which ranks and roles does it cover?
Serving officers from Constable to Chief Inspector, applying for any advertised post. Search, roads policing, intelligence, training and planning are typical examples, but any advert you upload works.
Is the voiced Mock Board included?
Yes, two boards are included. The voiced panel rehearses you on questions you have already answered in the builders: it asks them out loud and probes what you say, then scores a full debrief. The questions are your own saved ones, so you are always rehearsing the material you built for the post. Boards with fresh unseen questions stay on our Gold plan, because their questions are written for promotion boards rather than an advertised post.
Can you tell me whether I will pass the sift?
No, and no tool honestly can. Forces score applications differently and none of them publish their marking. What the review shows is where a panel reading your application will struggle to find the evidence, which is the part you can act on.
How much does it cost?
£69.99 as one payment, with no subscription. It lasts 60 days and you can save up to 3 adverts, so you can prepare for more than one post.
State6 was built by two serving UK police officers, a Superintendent and an Inspector with 38 years across four forces, because good officers were failing processes they should have passed. The same marking that prepares officers for their promotion boards is what reads your answers here.
